Skeeters are engineered for flat-out speed sailing on ice. The class is the “Formula One”, a wide-open development class where state-of-the-art sailing rules. With a 75 square foot maximum sail area and eight meter long hulls constructed of high tech materials such as carbon fiber and kevlar, the “Skeeter” is a an extremely aerodynamic, swift craft on smooth ice. Committed skippers find incredible challenges competing with these crafts up to speed levels of 200 km/h on the hard surface.
